Needless to say, we should not be here. We should not be living under the threat of another Trump presidency. He should have been tried and convicted and he should be in prison serving time, but he's not*. He has enough money and enough experience gaming the legal system and threatening witnesses to have remained free during the last 4 years. He's already begun threatening mass media outlets to publish flattering articles about him or face consequences. He's given a number of indications that he intends to completely erode any sense of normalcy, including free speech in all its forms. He intends to abuse his power and he intends for the Supreme Court justices that he appointed to remember that he can command a mob to threaten them should they not abide by his opinion in all important matters.
If we're not in a fascist state already, we will be on January 20th, 2025. The Supreme Court or the Congress could turn this around, but neither of those two branches of government has shown any hint of bravery when it comes to standing up to Donald Trump, whether he's in the Executive Branch of government or not. We are in danger of losing all the rights our ancestors fought wars to defend. If the day comes when you no longer see this site online and Trump is still in power, know that it is not because of the site maintainers that it goes offline. It will only be because Trump ordered it so.
Whether you believe Donald Trump is a Russian asset or not, he doesn't believe in the USA. He only believes in himself. He put on a good enough con to win the votes he needed, but his endgame is to make money and to gain power and dominion over others. He doesn't respect the U.S. Constitution and all its history. As badly as he wants to destroy it, he wants only for others to shed their blood to destroy it for him; he will not willingly do the same. He is a coward who wields only the weapon of his voice and the ability to prod others to action with that voice.
In this time of darkness, please help others. There will be those who the Trump administration threatens with physical harm and they need your help. Don't forget what you stand for and don't forget how hard your ancestors fought so that you could be free. Torture is wrong. Forcibly separating infants and toddlers from their parents is wrong. Forcibly drugging children is wrong. These are things the first Trump administration did and may try again. If you are in a position to stop it, please try. Speak out if you see something. It's only when good people choose to speak out that good has a fighting chance to prevail.1
*Some MAGA people reading this who have spent too much time watching Fox News and other preferred media outlets of the conservative fascists will still say he's done nothing wrong. If you are in this camp, please seek out information that may conflict with what you've been told.
