Commander of Cowardice

The one thing that donald trump has managed to command during his nearly 4 years as Commander In Chief has been his own cowardice.  He has shown an amazing ability to display it in so many ways.  At the end of his time as President, trump continues to exhibit his cowardice through his fear of losing the power of his office.  He searches through his catalog of lies trying to find something, some dishonest tool, that will give him the power he so desperately craves.  None of these lies appear to be convincing enough to permit him to rob the American people of an election, no matter how much he wants his followers to believe that his defeat couldn't have happened in an honest election.

Throughout trump's 4 years, he has repeatedly triggered disaster after disaster for our government.  The disaster we're still living through is the lack of government response to a pandemic.  The confusing part about WHY there is a lack of a federal response is that it had already been well-thought and delivered to trump on a silver platter when he took office.  He just needed to read and follow instructions.  He didn't have to be creative.  He didn't have to think outside the box.  The thinking had already been done for him.  The Washington Post reminds us of this in an article describing the history of presidential transitions in the USA:

The Bush-to-Obama transition in 2008-09 also occurred during a fraught time for the country, amid two wars and another financial crisis, but unlike Hoover-to-Roosevelt, it is considered the smoothest in history.

“One transition saved jobs and kept people in their homes; another transition delayed relief from the Great Depression,” said David Marchick, director of the Center for Presidential Transition.

In organizing the outgoing side of that transition, Bush’s chief of staff, Josh Bolten, came up with several innovations that are now required by law, including a chilling series of tabletop disaster simulations designed to alert the next administration to potential threats and demonstrate the nation’s emergency response capabilities.

Eight years later, one of the scenarios the Obama team modeled for the Trump team was how to address a global pandemic.

And so, for trump's ongoing incompetence we have suffered.  For trump's ongoing cowardice, we suffer from the disinformation that continues to flow from his strange, trumpet bell-shaped mouth.  The only superpower that could be attributed to trump is the ability to suppress any normal human emotions that we associate with a reasonably, or even slightly kind person.  With this emotional suppression and with his lying without remorse and with his orange face, much too orange to show any blushing even if it were present, trump tries to convince others that the reality that he wants to exist is possible through repetitive speech.  If he can say it enough, he believes he can make it happen.  If he can't make it happen through lies, to him, the system is "rigged".  To the rest of us, the system is rigged to be in favor of the truth over the long term.  The truth is the phobia donald trump fears the most.  The truth reveals him as a talentless clown, auditioning to become the carnival barker to any circus with an empty tent that will allow him.  The republicans allowed themselves to be that circus in 2016, by allowing donald trump the use of their name as a candidate.  Now, this carnival barker is too scared to speak in public or even show his face.  He knows he has been deemed a loser by the will of the American people.  He narrates, through twitter, his story of distraction.  He will never be able to distract independent minds enough to deny that he has ever been anything more than a coward.  

He will be gone soon and I urge you to forget him and his family.  We will make this country stronger and more resilient so that there is no risk that this family of cowards, dependent on Russian money, will ever have a chance at fooling us again.
